Shah Rukh Khan will be stepping in the shoes of astronaut Rakesh Sharma for his upcoming film SALUTE. Shah Rukh Khan wiil be starting with the prepration for this film in September 2018 and will shoot for two months straight until November-end.
Rakesh Sharma is a former Indian Air Force pilot who flew aboard Soyuz T-11 in 1984 and is the only Indian citizen to travel in space. Rakesh Sharam is one of the most acclaimed Indian astronauts of our time .
Initially the movie was offered to Aamir Khan and he even agreed to play the part in the film but due certain circumstances Aamir backed out from the project.But Aamir Khan did bring Shah Rukh Khan in the picture. Now, indeed it is gonna be SRK who will be portraying Rakesh Sharma in the biopic.
In last few weeks reports said that SRK too is backing out from the film but now according to Mumbai Mirror the dates for the film are already been lock by SRK.
A source revealed to MM, “Shah Rukh will begin prep for the film in September and will shoot for two months straight until November-end. He will resume shooting in January. The film is expected to release in 2019 and the makers are presently finalising the leading lady.”
SRK will also be promoting his upcoming film, Zero, which is directed by Aanand L. Rai and also stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in between shooting Salute. Zero is slated to release on December 21, 2018.
Salute is being helmed by ad filmmaker Mahesh Mathai and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur. Salute is scheduled to release in 2019.
