Shershaan: A war biopic based on the Kargil Story of Capt Vikram Bhatra to be released on Amazon Prime, check the dates here
Produced by Karan Johar and directed by Vishnuvardhan, this film is about the life journey of a young officer who led his life for the country. This film stars Sidharth Malhotra who plays the role of Capt Vikram Bhatra and Kiara Advani as Dimple Cheema. The film is set to hit the screens on 12th August 2021. Just three days before Independence Day. The film will be released on Amazon Prime Video.
This film was initially scheduled for release on 3rd July 2020 but got rescheduled due to Covid 19 Pandemic.
Vishnuvardhan will make his debut in Bollywood by directing this movie. He has directed many films in Tamil Film Industry. Some of his phenomenal work includes Arrambam, Billa, Pattiyal, etc.
Karan Johar posted a trailer of the film on his Instagram account and wrote the caption, “Shershaah!!!! An ordinary man’s extraordinary journey of courage and valor. Extremely honored, thrilled, and excited to present #SheershahOnPrime, releasing on 12th August 2021 only on @primevideo. He also shared a picture from the movie and wrote, “WITNESS HIS DREAMS” in it.
Capt Vikram Bhatra was serving in the Indian Army when he was martyred during the Kargil war in 1999. He was known for his courage, valor, patriotism, and last but not the least filmy Andaz. He received Param Vir Chakra for his highest order of bravery and leadership and made sacrifice during “Operation Vijay”
Many writers have written about his extraordinary life, movie makers too have made films like LOC: Kargil to showcase his braveness. Abhishek Bachchan played the role of Captain in that film. His life, therefore, is not at all a secret, including his love life. His love story is also very famous. Today also, officers and soldiers in the armed forces look up to him and admire him.
It will be our honor to watch his journey and we are waiting to unfold Vishnuvardhan’s first direction in Bollywood.
