A purported screenshot of a Snapchat conversation allegedly between Siya Goyal and her friend has emerged online, adding a new twist to the investigation into businessman Ketan Agarwal’s death. Police claim Agarwal was pushed from Pune’s Lohagad Fort by Siya and her boyfriend, Chetan, in the shocking murder case. Siya Goyal and her lover, Chetan Chaudhary, allegedly used sign language and secret nicknames while communicating to avoid police surveillance, according to deleted data recovered from their mobile phones.
Investigators believe the two planned the murder of Siya’s fiancé, Ketan Agarwal, and tried to hide their conversations. Both accused have now been sent to judicial custody for 14 days. The local court rejected the police’s request for three more days of custody. Police said they needed more time to question Siya and Chetan together to understand their coded conversations, determine the motive behind the crime, and establish their alleged involvement in the murder conspiracy case.
Court Refuses More Police Custody Amid Ongoing Investigation
Investigating officer Manoj Pawar said police inspected the spot where Siya allegedly tore Ketan’s passport and seized her clothes as evidence. They also examined her second phone and found a coded conversation. Police sought permission to present the accused before eyewitnesses for identification. However, Siya’s lawyer opposed further police custody, arguing that investigators had not found any fresh evidence or made any significant progress in the case so far.
The issue of a narco test was also discussed during the hearing. The court said such tests cannot be conducted without the accused’s consent. Since Siya and Chetan refused, permission was denied. The prosecution also stated that a narco test was unnecessary in this case and not required during the investigation.
Purported Snapchat Angle
During the investigation, an alleged Snapchat chat between Siya and her friend came to light, sources said. In the conversation, Siya reportedly asked her friend to send a copy of her Aadhaar card so that she could use it to book a flight ticket. Authorities are now examining the chat carefully. “Send me your Aadhaar card to book tickets for a wedding that is never going to happen,” Siya allegedly stated.
Investigators are checking if the alleged flight booking was meant to hide the murder plot and make it appear that wedding preparations were still going on. Police are also looking into whether Siya and Chetan used this as part of a bigger plan to mislead investigators after Ketan’s murder. However, the alleged chat has not been verified yet, and its connection to the case is still being examined. The investigation is currently ongoing.
According to the FIR filed by Ketan’s father, Vishal Devichand Agarwal, Chetan and Siya allegedly pushed Ketan off a cliff. Ketan left home on June 18 and picked up Siya from Kiwale bridge before going to Lohagad Fort. At 10:45 am, Siya called his mother and said he had accidentally fallen into a gorge. Local residents and police rescued him and took him to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead after examination and could not save him.
On June 21, Ketan Agarwal’s father and relatives visited the spot where he fell. According to the FIR, they believed an accidental fall was unlikely. His friends, Navdeep Jindal and Tarun Mittal, also joined the family to inspect the cliff. Siya Goyal’s family claimed her phone was always busy and she often spoke about her friend Chetan. This made them suspect that the two were in a romantic relationship together.
