Renowned comedian and actor Sunil Pal, best known for winning The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, recently found himself at the center of a shocking incident that has left fans upset. A viral video from a poetry event shows the comedian being denied a microphone on stage despite repeated requests, an episode he has now spoken about in detail. In an interview with one of the media houses, Sunil Pal revealed that he had attended an Urdu-Arabic poetry gathering at the invitation of a close friend.

The evening, he said, was filled with talented poets and a lively atmosphere, until things took an unexpected turn. He was invited onto the stage and welcomed with a bouquet. Naturally, Sunil felt compelled to say a few words of appreciation for the poets and the event. However, when he requested a microphone, the person on stage refused to hand it over. Sunil Pal shared that he repeatedly requested the microphone, simply to express his gratitude.

In the now-viral video, he can be seen politely asking, “At least let me say thank you.” Despite this, his requests were ignored. The situation escalated when, according to Sunil, the host allegedly snatched the microphone from him and organizers began urging him to leave the stage. The entire episode unfolded in front of an audience that initially believed he was being honored.

Describing the moment, Sunil Pal said he felt deeply embarrassed and confused. With people recording videos, the situation became even more uncomfortable as the reality of what was happening set in. He added that even his friend, who had invited him, could not explain why he was denied the opportunity to speak. Disheartened, Sunil chose to leave the event shortly afterward.

He also produced and directed the comedy film Bhavnao Ko Samjho, which featured an ensemble cast of stand-up comedians including Johnny Lever and Raju Srivastava. This is not the first time Sunil Pal has made headlines. In 2024, he was reportedly kidnapped while traveling to Haridwar for an event.
