Sushmita Sen Opened Up On Her Surgery

In a candid conversation on a podcast, Sushmita Sen opened up about her mindset during the critical operation. During this she revealed, “All my doctors will tell you I was very impatient with them. I said I didn’t want to be unconscious during the procedure. The control freak in me doesn’t like being unconscious. That’s why I survived the heart attack, because it was a choice between enduring it and remaining conscious, or falling asleep and not waking up.”

Sushmita shared that one of the driving forces behind her quick recovery was her sense of responsibility toward her team on Aarya. As the lead actress, she emphasized the pressure of carrying a show with a large crew relying on her presence. She explained, “When you’re the lead in a show, it’s no easy task. You’re responsible for a crew of 500 people. They’ve all been so nice and understanding, but I was worried that their wages were stuck and they couldn’t shoot without me. I was fine, I had done what I had to, so I had to move on.”
