Taapsee Pannu Says She Holds No Grudge Against Kangana Ranaut, Open to Friendship With Her

Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu has addressed her long-standing feud with Kangana Ranaut, making it clear that she harbors no resentment and is even open to being friends. In a recent interview, Taapsee spoke candidly about the controversy that began nearly seven years ago and clarified that, from her side, there was never a fight to begin with. During a conversation on Shubhankar Mishra Podcast, Taapsee stated, “I don’t remember ever fighting. A fight happens when two people clash. I never did.”

She further emphasized that she has never spoken negatively about Kangana in public. Referring to past comments made about her, Taapsee said, “Her sister called me a cheap copy. She said that because I don’t make as much money here, I’m cheap. If she’s such a brilliant actress, I don’t mind being called her copy. You can take any statement I’ve made. I haven’t said anything against her.”

When asked whether star kids may have benefited from the alleged rivalry, especially since both actresses are considered outsiders in the industry, Taapsee gave a thoughtful response. She said she doesn’t know who may have benefited, but believes someone might have gained from the situation. According to her, there may have been people who didn’t want the two actresses to come together professionally.

She said, “Because they might have feared that if we came together, something amazing could happen”. Perhaps the most surprising part of Taapsee’s statement was her openness to friendship. She further added, “Absolutely. I’ve always said that if I ever see her around, I’ll definitely meet her. She’s my senior. Why wouldn’t I go up to her and say hello respectfully? I can’t guarantee her reaction. I can only guarantee my behavior. To be honest, I have nothing against her.”

Her remarks suggest that she is ready to move forward and put the past behind her. The controversy dates back to the promotions of Manmarziyaan, directed by Anurag Kashyap. During an interview, Taapsee was asked which product she would recommend to Kangana, and she reportedly responded with double filter. The comment did not go down well with Kangana and her sister, Rangoli Chandel, who called Taapsee a cheap copy on social media platform X.
