B-town filmmakers have been following the trend of recreating Hindi songs and adding them to Bollywood movies in a full-fledged manner. Right from Humma Humma to Tamma Tamma, many Bollywood songs have been recreated to suit the current taste. The latest one that has fallen in this trend is the iconic song ‘Lag Jaa Gale’, sung by none other than the legendary Lata Mangeshkar.
This song from 1964 release Woh Kaun Thi, composed by Madan Mohan still rules our heart. Every time we listen to it, it leaves us completely mesmerised. Well, keeping up with the trend, Tigamanshu Dhulia has decided to have a recreated version of a song in his movie Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3. The song will be picturized on Chitrangandha Singh & Mahi Gill. It will be sung by Jonita Gandhi, who has earlier sung songs like Lagdi Hai Thaai, The Breakup Song, Sau Tarah Ke among others.
Talking about the song, Jonita said “Performing this song is a daunting task because one can’t do justice to the beauty of the original. Lata Mangeshkar ji and Madan Mohan ji have created magic. To say the song is iconic would be an understatement. Like most people, I too have grown up listening to, learning, and attempting [to sing] this song. It is close to my heart. I hope people appreciate it.”
“The song epitomizes the essence of our film.”, Jonita added.
