THIS B-Town Actress Now Has A Rhinoceros Named After Her!

Lots of our B-town celebrities are nature lovers and always doing one thing or the other for the sake of preserving our environment. One of them is Dia Mirza. She is undoubtedly an avid nature lover. Almost all of her social media posts are about the environment and wildlife, which proves her love for nature. That’s not it. The actress is also is UN Environment’s Goodwill Ambassador for India.

Dia is currently in Kenya, enjoying her time with nature. Recently a baby rhino, which was born at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya, has been named after her. The actress shared the news on her Instagram handle. She also shared the photo of the letter from the CEO of Ol Pejeta Conservancy which read, “Dear Dia Mirza: We are proud to announce that we now have a rhino named Dia Mirza in honour of your outstanding career and work as a UN Goodwill Ambassador for Environment. Dia Mirza is a female black rhino, born on 15th October 2017 on Ol Pejeta Conservancy. She is the fourth calf born to Nduta, and they reside together in the Southern Sector of the Conservancy. We look forward to partnering with you to further rhino conservation in Kenya and hope that you visit Ol Pejeta soon to see your beautiful Rhino.”

Dia Mirza also posted a few photos of the baby rhino with her mother and captioned it, “I want to thank Hamid Hussain and Muhammad Yaqoob and the entire team at #OlPejetaConservancy including Richard, Sarah and Elodie for naming this amazing #Rhino baby after me! Lately, Dia has also been working towards protecting the environment. Her campaign against the single use of plastic has created a lot of buzz and has been a major success so far.

On the acting front, Dia Mirza will be next seen in the upcoming Bollywood romance flick Shoebite. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Sarika and Jimmy Sheirgill in pivotal roles.
