With Donald Trump, being renominated as the 47th president of the United States, his decision to pass executive orders overriding many constitutional and legislative findings is a step toward understanding that countries can be governed with nostalgia and that even the United States can undergo a phenomenal change. Though these 100 executive orders will have to go through the scrutiny of courts and legislature, they still reflect the intent of the government and that of Donald Trump’s cabinet. Being his second and the last possible term, he has every excuse for taking rash and bold decisions – good for the American economy. The induction of the richest businesspeople in the top echelons of the bureaucracy will provide a different perspective of governance and revamp the federal set up of America. However, it is still contested that his ambitious projects – such as reclaiming the Panama Canal, mass deportation of illegal immigrants, and sweeping changes in the tariff regime – are now being considered as a threat tools that may not go well with the rest of the world, and consequently, America itself, since it depends on other countries for manufacturing products for Americans. Being the single largest consumption base on the planet, it has to rely on external manufacturing facilities, especially when it is grappling with a drug menace among its youth, and an excess supply of money.

The Mahakumbh and the Ram Mandir have taken BJP to a completely new level of politics and governance. After the Ram Mandir, the BJP is searching for another Mandir project for the next general election agenda in 2029. The fervour of Mahakumbh has reaped great benefits for CM, Yogi and the BJP like no other political party. It has successfully pulled off one of the largest events ever conducted on the planet with precision and positive economic impact. If one looks at the numbers and analyses it with the economic indices, the religious fervour cannot be criticised, as it is driving economic growth, which any country needs. However, it must be taken into consideration that we live in a progressive technological world and making people go back to religion has its own humbling effects. Then again, it is more of a personal matter rather than a debate that can be settled with one solution. Some of the most rational people are spending millions for a dip in the Sangam at that very spot of Prayagraj. In the run-up to the next phase of state elections, the event of Mahakumbh will certainly benefit the BJP, and in conjunction with the Ram Mandir, it has undoubtedly become an unbeatable political movement, at least in the UP and amongHindus. All that the party needs to do is to keep repeating the religious fervour and the Sanatan will override all the minorities in India- arguably the best political move ever devised in Indian democracy. It is the money of the state, which is being used to propel a political party for its establishment and growth– what better than this?

The Aam Aadmi Party, having lost a strong immigrants voter base, faces a hard-fought battle for the governance of Delhi NCR in the February 5, 2025, Delhi state elections. The result outcomes could mirror those of the general elections, the Maharashtra state, the Haryana and the by-polls, where allegations have been levelled at the Election Commission for manipulating votes cast through electronic voting machines. It will be interesting to see how the number of seats for opposition parties suddenly collapses to BJP, after an initial rise in the vote count on February 8, when the counting for Delhi state polls takes place. Readers may have noted the remarkable pattern in recent elections – an initial surge in opposition seats, only to be followed by a sudden increase in BJP seats once a competitive position has been reached by the opposition. Without saying much, it appears that BJP definitely has an upper hand in all aspects of the Delhi election. AAP had built its strong voter base by facilitating a large influx of immigrants into the slums of Delhi. These voters were micro-managed about 10-11 years ago to establish a completely new electoral base in Delhi. However, the consequences for the city have been catastrophic, with growth far outpacing the infrastructure that Delhi can oblige. Arvind Kejriwal himself has lately confessed that he is unable to ‘keep the city clean’. n reality the immigrant election voters have now become Delhites, and they have become a different class of people who have graduated from the grassroot Aam Aadmi Party in search of a higher political agenda or ideology. Hence, AAP seems to have lost its base that it had once created. And let’s not forget the Sheesh Mahal – designed and built by the family, for the family of Arvind Kejriwal, now never to set foot in it again.

DeepSeek seems to have shaken the American dream of OpenAI. It will be exciting to see what will happen in the next 5 to 6 months when all AI engines and large language models (LLMs), release their next version, at a lower subscription for users. For the US companies, it will mean new added $ funding and for the Chinese it will mean more ingeniousness to construct their AI algorithms. While these two money (& brain) giants wage war over the supremacy of AI (& crypto since they go hand in hand), the world awaits the precipitate (& residue) of their development.
