A unseen picture of Kareena Kapoor Khan from her wedding day with Saif Ali Khan has surfaced on the internet seven years after her marriage. Kareena looked magnificent in a rusty red sharara which she inherited from her mother-in-law Sharmila Tagore.
Keeping the makeup minimal , Kareena kept up to the Nawabi tradition with a statement maang tika and passa which were the highlights of the attire. Designer Ritu Kumar recreated the heirloom Sharara for Saif and Kareena’s wedding seven years ago.

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan’s love story is one of a kind. The actor fell for each other on the sets of Tashan and after dating for about four years the two tied the knot on October 16, 2012 and their wedding was one much- talked about affair.
However, Kareena was not initially keen on marrying the Nawab of Pataudi. In a throwback interview Kareena had revealed that Saif had proposed her in Greece on the sets of Tashan. She had stated, “He did tell me, ‘I think we should get married’. He told me that in Greece and he told me that in Ladakh as well. And at that time I was like ‘I don’t know because I don’t know you’. So it was not really a ‘no’ but it was more like a ‘I want to know you better.”
