After the massive success of Chhava, Vicky Kaushal is all set to take on another epic historical film. The actor will soon collaborate with Stree 2 director Amar Kaushik for a magnum opus titled “Mahavatar”, based on the life of Chiranjeevi Parashurama, an immortal incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The source further added, “Amar has already given up his eating and drinking habits, while Vicky will do the same after completing the shoot of Love and War. This is his way of showing respect to the character of Lord Parashurama.” The much-anticipated project, produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, is expected to go on floors in late 2026 and release in theaters in 2028. The film is touted to be one of the biggest mythological productions ever made in India, combining cutting-edge technology with a story rooted in ancient Indian lore.

In May 2025, producer Dinesh Vijan spoke about Mahavatar, emphasizing the importance of telling stories inspired by India’s heritage. He said, “Over the last 10 years, we’ve been focusing on telling stories rooted in our own culture rather than chasing Western narratives. India is the only country with such rich mythology and history. Stree and Chhava are examples of that. Mahavatar is probably our biggest film yet, we want to make it grand, world-class, and culturally authentic.”
