We’re all glued to the Internet and life feels rather stuck in second gear without it. And if it’s not fixed within a couple of hours, all hell breaks loose.

Here are 10 things you can turn to on a day without the Wi-Fi:

  1. Re-arrange your furniture

Break the monotony and shift that sofa to a new spot. Re-decorate the space with a few planters. Create a new conversation space, or a new workspace to recharge yourself for the next time your Wi-Fi works.

  1. Meditate

Often the social media algorithms do not let you get off the app. However, use this weak Wi-Fi moment to sit back, relax, and meditate. Have a glass of warm water infused with your favorite green tea, play that relaxation music, and deep breathing for 10 minutes.

  1. Get back to old school hobbies

Instead of watching other people dance, get on your toes and dance. Bring out that old coloring book and express it through colors. Get back to that stamp collection you longed for. Play that piano or strum the chords of your guitar that have been covered with dust all this while.

  1. Play Board games

Sit with your family/friends and play for real. The feel of rolling real dice will never be the same as clicking a button to roll the dice on your phone. So while the Wi-Fi is repaired, interact in person and have a jolly good evening.

  1. Read a book

That smell of new pages and old books? Get back to them and give your eyes a treat. Read something offline and keep your phone/tablet aside.

  1. Plan a Picnic

Pack your picnic mat, grab a few sandwiches, fresh juices, call your go-to buddies and have a lavish spread for the afternoon your Wi-Fi betrayed you! Watch the skies and let them soothe your eyes.

  1. Go on a cleaning spree

Guess what is more satisfying than an afternoon nap? De-cluttering. Yes. Get up and clean that drawer you keep tossing stuff into or that make-up drawer. Organizing stuff can be therapeutic and this is the right time to do it. No distractions whatsoever!

 

  1. Cook a healthy meal

Toss the greens and make yourself a salad, or actually pasta to be happier. So, when you cook, you’re conscious of the ingredients you add, and knowing what you are putting in your stomach is really important.

  1. Workout

A 10-min HIIT workout, an evening run, or just light stretching; it’s never too late to start. Give your body the much-needed dose of energy by spending some time working out. It will clean your mind of all the negativity and flush you with enough zeal for the rest of the day.

  1. Plant something

Getting your hands dirty to plant a seed/sapling can be every bit therapeutic. Water the plants on your balcony and talk to them. Spend time with nature and get detox from that digital machine.
