TV actress Dipika Kakar has opened up about returning to work while continuing her treatment. In her latest vlog, the actress admitted that taking up a daily soap is currently difficult for her because of the demands of a long shooting schedule and the side effects of treatment. Talking about her career situation, Dipika candidly said, “Why would anyone cast me?” Despite the challenges, Dipika has found a way to stay connected with work. Let us tell you that the actress is currently shooting a music video with her husband and actor Shoaib Ibrahim.

Dipika Kakar On Not Doing Shows
Talking about her professional plans, Dipika explained that her current condition makes a daily television show difficult to manage. A daily soap requires long and regular shooting schedules, something she feels would be too demanding while dealing with treatment and its side effects.
The actress said, “At this point, looking at my condition, I don’t think I will be able to do a daily soap.” She then added that it is obvious that producers may hesitate to cast someone who is currently undergoing treatment.

However, Dipika did not sound like she was giving up on acting altogether. Instead, she appears to be looking at projects that allow her to balance work with her current routine. Dipika has now chosen a music video as her way of getting back in front of the camera. The actress is working on the project with her husband, actor Shoaib Ibrahim. Explaining why a music video works better for her at the moment, Dipika said that a song can be shot in a single day, making it much easier to fit around her treatment schedule. Unlike a daily soap, which could require her to spend several days a week on set, a one-day project gives her greater flexibility.

She said that this was something she felt she could manage, which is why she decided to take up the opportunity. The upcoming music video will not just feature Dipika and Shoaib together. The actress also revealed that she will be performing some light dance moves in the song. According to Dipika, she had rehearsals planned and the choreography would not be overly strenuous. She described it as a light but enjoyable dance performance that she could manage.

Interestingly, Shoaib had earlier spoken about Dipika’s return to acting and revealed that he had initially been hesitant to approach her because of her health. He said that Dipika herself eventually asked whether she should do the project, after which he was happy to have her on board. He also described it as her comeback after four years. For Dipika, the music video seems to be less about making a full-fledged comeback overnight and more about finding a way to continue doing what she loves without putting additional pressure on herself. Her decision to take up a short project with Shoaib also gives the couple another opportunity to share the screen. For now, Dipika appears focused on taking things one project at a time while keeping her treatment and well-being in mind.
