World Oceans Day 2021- Here’s What You Should Know!
As every passing year, this year also World Oceans Day has finally arrived for us to remind us about the major roles and functions oceans have on our daily life. It is also no less important to mention, that on this very day, the whole world comes together to appreciate and celebrate the largest water body ever-present on this planet.
From another viewpoint, this day is broadly regarded as the United Nations day to celebrate the purpose and fulfillment of oceans in your everyday life through the means of conducting various activities, so that we can safeguard, protect, nurture and re-establish the usage and sustainability of marine resources.
Once the conference on Environment and Development took place in Rio de Janeiro by the United Nations before 1992, many countries decided to celebrate this auspicious occasion. However, as a final standpoint, in the year 2008, the United Nations general assembly contemplated on making 8th June as the ‘World Oceans Day from 2009.
This day dwells on the importance of enhancing the awareness and creating the sentience about how essential the oceans are to maintain a balanced and progressive universe. The world citizens and organizations came together and joined hand in hand to highlight the protective measures and preserve the oceans from waste and the antibody.
In this year, the theme for the World Oceans Day, remained as ‘The Ocean: Life and Livelihoods’ as the occasional ambition of this day, on this year, was to educate and make people learn about the safety caution of the oceans, as they are equally responsible and noteworthy for the deterioration ad damage of the water-bodies.
On this very day, people around our blue planet honor and respect all seas and oceans which actually connects us all. Thus the prime motto remains and sustains as getting together all of our families, friends, communities, groups, relatives, and millions of others to take on our journey so that the blue planet can create a wonderful future for us.
