Your beloved Java Coffee should be a part of your skincare regimen.

While drinking your beloved java gives you the energy to last through the day, lathering and massaging your skin with a coffee can give you a multitude of skincare benefits.

I wish to know what these benefits are?

Provides protection against UV rays

UV rays are harmful to our skin and can damage the DNA in skin cells which can further lead to diseases like skin cancer. Lathering coffee on your skin can help you protect yourself against harmful sun damage. The caffeine present in coffee acts as a guard against UV rays. It inhibits a protein enzyme in the skin known as ATR (ataxia telangiectasia and Rad3) and makes cells more likely to die in response to UV damage, preventing damaged cells from ever becoming cancerous.

Acts as an exfoliator to your skin

Coffee is rich in antioxidants that help in removing the damaged skin cells and makes your skin feel silky smooth. Take some good amount of ground coffee and mix it with brown sugar and olive oil. Once you are done mixing it, apply and massage it on your face like a scrub. Let it rest on your face for 10-15 minutes and then rinse it with lukewarm water. Repeat the same activity thrice a week and see the difference.

Fights against premature aging

Coffee has anti-aging properties. Just like foods such as berries, tea, chocolate and wine, coffee is also rich in polyphenols that are packed with antioxidants and potential health benefits. The antioxidants present in it fights against the free radicals and also slow down the aging process of the skin caused by DNA damage or heavy sun exposure.

Reduces eye puffiness and undereye dark circles

Due to lack of sleep, dehydration or genetics, most of us get eye puffiness or dark circles under our eyes. Coffee is considered as an excellent remedy for puffy eyes and undereye dark circles. The caffeine in coffee has excellent anti-inflammatory properties and is high in antioxidants. It constricts the blood vessels under the skin and removes the water content, both of which reduce the puffiness of bags under your eyes. It is found to be a common ingredient in most of the cosmetic products for puffy eyes as it helps to deflate eye puffiness.

Helps in brightening the skin

As we have mentioned above, Coffee contains healthy antioxidants that can completely rejuvenate your dull skin, soften lines and prevent clogged pores. The caffeine in the coffee improves blood circulation, thereby making your skin appear energized and radiant. Try to make a coffee scrub at home for glowing skin. Take 1/4 cup of coffee grounds and 1 egg. Mix the coffee grounds and the egg white in a bowl until it forms a paste. Apply and massage the paste on your skin. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes until it dries. Rinse it with lukewarm water. Repeat the same activity twice a week and see the difference.

Tightens up the skin

The caffeine in the coffee acts as a lipolytic chemical. It breaks down triglycerides inside fat cells and stimulates the fat cells to release those triglycerides into the circulation. This is how caffeine dehydrates the fatty cells in your body and further minimizes the visibility of cellulite.
