Boman Irani Calls Shah Rukh Khan ‘Extremely Boring’, But Only When It Comes To Food

Shah Rukh Khan is not just adored by his fans but also deeply admired by his co-stars, many of whom describe him as warm, generous, and endlessly fun on set. Yet, actor Boman Irani, who worked with SRK in Happy New Year, has one unusual complaint about the superstar — his eating habits.

In a recent conversation with Humans of Bombay, Boman fondly recalled his experiences with the actor. “Shah Rukh enjoys being on set, he enjoys people, and he enjoys the collective nature of filmmaking. He’s big-hearted, playful, and always giving. There’s really a naughty side to him,” he shared.

The 3 Idiots star revealed how Shah Rukh’s suite would always be open for everyone on set. “There will be all the snacks on one side. People walk in and out, pick up food, play games with him when he has the time. The set is always fun.”

Boman also admitted that SRK tops his list of favourite co-stars. “If I make a list of my favourite moments, Shah Rukh will definitely be in the top five. Straight up, no question.”

However, Irani pointed out one issue he has with the actor. “Food,” he laughed. “He’s extremely boring. He only eats tandoor chicken and nothing else. He comes with us to restaurants but doesn’t eat. The food is lying there, everyone’s enjoying, but Shah Rukh doesn’t care. So yes, I have a problem there — he doesn’t give me company when it comes to food.”

Interestingly, Shah Rukh himself has admitted in past interviews that he prefers simple meals. Speaking to RJ Devangana, he once said, “I eat only two meals a day: lunch and dinner. Mujhe pakwan pasand nahi (I don’t like fancy food). My diet is very basic — sprouts, grilled chicken, broccoli, sometimes dal. That’s all I’ve been eating daily for years.”

Despite Boman’s playful complaint, it’s clear his admiration for Shah Rukh remains untouched — food or no food.
