Dhurandhar 2 Faces Ban in Tamil Nadu
Hours before Rajinikanth praised Dhurandhar 2, reports said a plea was filed in the Madras High Court seeking a ban before Tamil Nadu elections. The petition argued the spy thriller might breach the Model Code of Conduct in force during the polls. Advocate Sheela approached the court, requesting urgent intervention and appropriate restrictions on the film’s release across the state.
Advocate Sheela stated that the plea deserves urgent consideration because the Tamil Nadu elections are approaching soon. Citing Daily Thanthi, she contended that the film Dhurandhar 2 may influence voters, as its content presents a one-sided perspective and potentially violates the Model Code of Conduct currently in effect being fully.
The report added that Madras High Court Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and Justice G Arul Murugan said the hearing would occur only after completion of petition filing, and the next hearing date has not yet been announced as per official updates released to the media earlier today by authorities.
Dhurandhar 2 Release Languages
Dhurandhar 2 released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. The Hindi version arrived on March 19 as scheduled, but dubbed versions in southern languages were postponed for a few days due to censorship delays. Audiences in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh were finally able to watch the film in their respective local languages starting Saturday across regional cinema markets.
