Dipika Kakar Breaks Down During Liver Cancer Treatment, Shares Emotional Update in Latest Vlog

Year 2025 has been an extremely difficult year for television actress Dipika Kakar. The Sasural Simar Ka fame, who is currently undergoing treatment for liver cancer, recently spoke about the emotional and physical challenges she is facing. In her latest vlog, Dipika revealed that she broke down during a visit to her oncologist as fear and anxiety overwhelmed her. Her husband, Shoaib Ibrahim, was by her side, comforting her through the moment.

Dipika Kakar Going Through Cancer Treatment

On June 3, 2025, Dipika underwent a major surgery in which doctors removed 22 percent of her liver. She shared that she had an 11-centimeter tumor, but the positive news was that the cancer was confined to the liver and had not spread anywhere else. Dipika has continued to update her fans regularly, expressing gratitude for the support she receives while also openly discussing the difficult parts of her recovery.

Dipika explained that she has been dealing with fluctuating thyroid levels during her treatment. These changes have caused, pressure in the ears and throat, dry skin, sore throat, fatigue, hair thinning and mouth ulcers due to ongoing therapy. Even though the side effects are challenging, Dipika said that her medical reports have been consistently positive. In the vlog, Dipika opened up about the emotional strain of battling cancer.

She said, “Everything is fine. The reports are normal, and treatment is going well. But sometimes the fear takes over. Every day brings something new, and we move forward with it. Today, I got a little emotional.” Her honesty touched fans deeply, and she received an outpouring of love and prayers. Dipika shared that she is undergoing targeted therapy, which helps eliminate any remaining cancer cells and reduces the chances of a recurrence. This treatment will continue for two years and may cause side effects, but she remains hopeful and determined.
