The 2025 Bihar Assembly elections have brought a major twist to the state’s political landscape, with Chirag Paswan emerging as one of the strongest forces in Bihar politics. Popularly known as Prime Minister Modi’s Hanuman, Chirag has stunned political observers by winning far more seats than expected under the banner of the Lok Janshakti Party. Chirag Paswan, the son of late Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, has truly come into his own redefining the LJP’s position in state politics and strengthening his influence within the ruling coalition.

Chirag Paswan On His Bollywood Journey
Before entering politics, Chirag Paswan briefly tried his luck in Bollywood. Many may not know that he appeared in the 2011 romantic film Mile Na Mile Hum, opposite Kangana Ranaut. Directed by Tanveer Khan, the film told the story of an ambitious tennis player who falls in love with Anishka, a model played by Kangana, despite his parents’ opposition. The movie featured veterans like Kabir Bedi, Poonam Dhillon, and actors Sagarika Ghatge, Neeru Bajwa, Dilip Tahil, and Suresh Menon.

However, the film turned out to be a major box-office failure, leading Chirag to exit the film industry soon after. In an old interview, Chirag candidly spoke about why he left films. He said, “Even before India, I realized I was a disaster. No one from my family had ever gone to Bollywood. I quickly realized I wasn’t cut out for acting.” He further added that memorizing dialogues, improvising on camera, and wearing heavy makeup were challenges he could not adjust to.

Growing up watching his father deliver fiery impromptu speeches, Chirag assumed acting would come naturally, but the reality was far different. Interestingly, the only positive takeaway from his Bollywood experience, Chirag said, was his friendship with Kangana Ranaut. Despite losing touch in between, the two reunited years later in Parliament, after Kangana became a BJP MP from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.
