Born on February 14, 1933, in Delhi as Mumtaz Jehan Dehlvi, she grew up to become one of the most celebrated and graceful stars of Hindi cinema. Financial hardships forced young Mumtaz to begin working at just nine years old. She made her debut as a child artist in Basant, where she was credited as Baby Mumtaz. Her innocence and natural acting skills won hearts instantly, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey. In 1947, with the film Neel Kamal, she adopted the screen name Madhubala, a name that would soon become legendary.

In interviews, she emphasized that true success wasn’t defined by glamour or money but by one’s values and decisions, a philosophy that set her apart. The 1950s marked the golden phase of her career with memorable performances in Mahal, Howrah Bridge, Kala Pani, and Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi.
