The much-discussed marriage involving Monalisa, which had gone viral during the Kumbh Mela, has now taken a deeply concerning turn. Fresh investigations have revealed that the woman, who was presented as an adult at the time of her wedding, is actually a minor. This revelation has triggered immediate legal action against her husband Farman.

An official inquiry conducted by the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes confirmed that Monalisa was just 16 years and 2 months old at the time of the marriage. The investigation, led by the Commission’s Chairperson Antar Singh Arya, involved a detailed review of documentation and local records to establish her age. Following these findings, authorities registered an FIR against Farman at the Maheshwar Police Station.

The case has been filed under the POCSO Act as well as the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act, indicating the seriousness of the allegations. Given the gravity of the situation, the Commission has escalated the matter to the highest level. The Directors General of Police (DGPs) from Kerala and Madhya Pradesh have been summoned to Delhi for a comprehensive review and to determine further legal action.

Authorities are currently conducting a detailed investigation into all aspects of the case. Based on the evidence collected, further legal proceedings are expected.
