Actress Avneet Kaur has once again addressed the online frenzy surrounding a brief social media interaction involving cricketer Virat Kohli. Following a viral incident where Kohli liked and then unliked one of her Instagram posts, Avneet has made it clear that she is choosing to focus on her work rather than the online chatter.
In a recent interview with India Today, Avneet stated that she doesn’t allow such distractions to affect her. “I just keep working hard, that’s what I am focused on, honestly,” she shared. “I just try to better myself in every aspect, not just acting. I try to focus on other things more, and I obviously never forget my dream or that I have to make my parents proud.”
Avneet emphasized the importance of staying on her professional path. “These are some of the things that I try not to get distracted by, because if I keep focusing on these things, I will not be able to grow, and that’s not what I am looking for,” she said. She also credited her mother as her biggest support system and “best friend,” a person with whom she shares everything.
The controversy originated on April 30 after Avneet posted a series of pictures in a green crop top and a printed skirt. Fans were quick to notice that Virat Kohli had briefly liked the post, leading to a wave of online reactions and memes. Kohli later clarified the incident on his Instagram Story, explaining that it was an “accidental interaction” that occurred while he was clearing his feed and asked people not to make “unnecessary assumptions.”
Avneet had previously commented on the matter at the trailer launch for her film, Love in Vietnam, simply saying, “May the love keep coming.” The film, co-starring Shantanu Maheshwari, is set to be released on September 12.
