Social media influencer Orhan “Orry” Awatramani has been summoned by the Mumbai Police in connection with a high-stakes ₹252-crore drug case. The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Ghatkopar unit has asked him to appear at 10 AM for questioning.
The case traces back to March 2024, when authorities seized 126.14 kg of mephedrone, often called “MD”, from a farm in Sangli district, Maharashtra. The value of the seized narcotic was pegged at around ₹252 crore.

Orry’s name came up during investigations into lavish rave parties allegedly organised by the trafficker Mohammed Salim Mohammed Suhail Shaikh, who was deported from Dubai and is now in India’s custody. According to a remand application filed by the ANC, Shaikh claimed these events were attended by celebrities and influencers, including Orry, Bollywood actors, and underworld-linked individuals.
Officials have clearly stated that Orry is being called in as part of the verification process, not yet as an accused. Police said they are examining his communications, finances, and possible presence at the parties mentioned by Shaikh.

This is not the first time Orry has faced scrutiny for substance-related controversy. Earlier, he and several others were booked by the Jammu and Kashmir Police following an incident in Katra. A case was registered after a video showed him and his friends drinking alcohol in a hotel near the Vaishno Devi shrine, a location where liquor is prohibited.
For context, Orry is not a traditional movie star. He’s a well-known socialite and influencer, recognized for his wide network in Bollywood’s next generation. His public persona thrives on flamboyance, access, and constant visibility, traits that make him a fixture at high-profile events.
The ₹252-crore mephedrone case is already under intense scrutiny. The Sangli facility that was raided is believed to be a major node in an international drug-supply network. According to police, the profits may have been routed overseas through hawala networks.

Investigators are now also tracing party-goers from the alleged raves to see whether drugs were distributed at these events and whether any of the attendees played a more direct role in the trafficking chain.
Summoning Orry marks a significant moment in this probe. While large parts of the investigation remain at the fact-finding and verification stage, authorities appear to be widening their net beyond only “drug suppliers” to include high-profile social figures.
As he prepares to appear for questioning, the spotlight on Orry intensifies. For him, the upcoming interrogation could be a turning point, either to distance himself from the drug syndicate or to face more serious scrutiny in one of India’s biggest narcotics investigations.
