She has made her debut in the Haryanvi film Saangi, where she portrays the role of a grandmother. Her entry into regional cinema has not only surprised fans but also inspired many who believe it’s never too late to follow one’s dreams. Randeep Hooda shared his excitement on social media with a humorous twist, writing that while his mother never got the opportunity to play a mother’s role earlier, she has now directly jumped into playing a grandmother.

His heartfelt yet witty message congratulated both his mother and the entire team behind the film. In an interview with one of the media houses, Asha Hooda revealed that her love for acting dates back to her college days. A graduate of Rohtak Women’s College (1971), she actively participated in theatre and stage performances during her youth. However, after marriage, she shifted her focus to family responsibilities and political involvement, putting her acting aspirations on hold.

Interestingly, she shared that she would often jokingly tell her son to cast her if he ever came across a suitable mother’s role. Life, however, had its own plans, bringing her directly to the big screen in a grandmother’s character decades later. The Haryanvi film Saangi, released on the regional OTT platform Stage, explores a culturally rich and socially relevant theme.
