Filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s blockbuster Dhurandhar 2 is dominating the box office and winning praise from audiences, but a serious controversy has now cast a shadow over its success. A writer named Santosh Kumar RS has accused the director of plagiarizing his script to create the film. Santosh Kumar RS has publicly alleged that Dhurandhar 2 is based on a story he wrote in 2023. According to him, he had originally planned to make the film with Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead role.

He revealed that he had approached multiple major production houses, including Sony Pictures Networks India, Zee Studios, T-Series, and Dharma Productions, in search of backing for his project. The writer further claimed that his script was officially registered with the Screenwriters Association in November 2023, and that he possesses email records, drafts, and sketches as proof of ownership.

In his statement to the media, Santosh Kumar asserted that he will soon take legal action against the makers of the film. He said he plans to present all evidence publicly and pursue a lawsuit, alleging that his work has been exploited. He also expressed disappointment, claiming that his original vision for cinematic storytelling was altered and turned into what he described as political propaganda.

The storyline reportedly draws inspiration from real-life events such as the 2008 Mumbai attacks and India’s 2016 Indian demonetization.

Globally, its earnings have reached an impressive ₹1,392.23 crore within just 12 days of release, breaking over 30 records so far.
