Tanushree Dutta Alleges ‘Targeted Harassment’ At Home: ‘Can’t Hire Maids, I’ve Fallen Sick’

Actress Tanushree Dutta, who played a pivotal role in triggering India’s MeToo movement in 2018 by accusing actor Nana Patekar of sexual harassment, has once again raised serious concerns about her safety. In a recent video posted to Instagram, Tanushree broke down in tears, claiming she is being harassed inside her own home.

“I just called the cops. They’ve asked me to file a complaint at the police station. I’ll go tomorrow or the day after… I’m not well. I’ve been harassed so much in the past five years that I’ve fallen sick,” she said in the emotional video. The actress said the constant mental and physical stress has left her suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome.

Sharing her struggle, Tanushree said she can’t even maintain basic domestic help because “they plant people in my house.” She alleged that some maids stole from her, while others spiked her drinking water. “After I stopped drinking that water, I felt better. I caught them calling someone before and after entering the house,” she claimed in a previous interview with SCREEN.

In another Instagram post, Tanushree shared a video with loud banging noises in the background and wrote that this kind of noise pollution has been a near-daily ordeal since 2020. “I got tired of complaining to the building management. Now I just live with it and wear headphones with mantras to protect my sanity.”

Tanushree said she will be filing a formal FIR soon. “There’s a lot more I haven’t said publicly that will be in the FIR,” she added.

These recent claims follow a pattern of harassment allegations the actress has made over the years. From being allegedly followed by strangers during temple visits to encountering harassment at hotels, Tanushree has consistently linked these experiences to her 2018 allegations against Patekar. She has also accused filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri of misbehaviour on a film set.

The police have not yet issued an official statement on her latest complaint.
