The production banner claims that despite backing out, Dhanush assured them he would compensate by directing and starring in another film under their banner. Trusting his commitment, the company reportedly invested ₹20 crore in pre-production work and advance payments. The producers further alleged that payments were made to actors Nagarjuna and S. J. Suryah for their involvement in the film.

However, the project was stalled midway as Dhanush allegedly did not provide the complete script and reassigned his dates to other projects. The legal notice, issued by Advocate A. Chidambaram on behalf of Thenandal Films, has given Dhanush a one-week deadline to clarify whether he will complete the project by the end of 2026. If the actor fails to confirm completion within the stipulated timeline, the company has demanded ₹20 crore in damages and an additional ₹1 crore as compensation.

The movie’s strong performance reaffirmed Dhanush’s pan-India appeal and star power.
