Blake Lively Hails Legal Win After Justin Baldoni’s $650 Million Lawsuit Dismissed: ‘More Resolved Than Ever’

Blake Lively has broken her silence after a judge dismissed Justin Baldoni’s massive $650 million lawsuit against her, husband Ryan Reynolds, and The New York Times. Taking to Instagram, the actor opened up about the emotional toll of being caught in a retaliatory legal battle—and vowed to keep fighting for women’s rights.

Blake Lively Speaks Out Post-Verdict

In a series of Instagram Stories, Blake addressed the lawsuit’s dismissal and the broader issue of silencing tactics aimed at women. “Last week, I stood proudly alongside 19 organisations united in defending women’s rights to speak up for their safety,” she wrote. “Like so many others, I’ve felt the pain of a retaliatory lawsuit, including the manufactured shame that tries to break us.”

Expressing gratitude for the support she received, Blake added, “While the suit against me was defeated, so many don’t have the resources to fight back. I’m more resolved than ever to continue to stand for every woman’s right to have a voice in protecting themselves—be it their safety, their integrity, their dignity, or their story.”

She also highlighted several support organisations for women’s rights and legal aid, including the California Women’s Law Center, CHILD USA, Equal Rights Advocates, and more.

Judge Tosses Baldoni’s Claims

The legal clash stemmed from behind-the-scenes tensions during the production of the 2024 film It Ends With Us. In January, Baldoni filed a $400 million suit (later amended to $650 million) accusing Blake, Ryan Reynolds, and others of defamation and extortion, alleging they damaged his reputation with claims of sexual misconduct.

However, Judge Lewis J. Liman ruled in favor of the defendants, stating in his order that Lively’s statements were protected and that the other accusations lacked merit. “The Wayfarer Parties have not alleged that Lively is responsible for any statements other than those in her CRD complaint, which are privileged,” the judge wrote.

Blake’s legal team, Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb, called the ruling a “total victory and a complete vindication” not just for Lively but also for Reynolds, their publicist Leslie Sloane, and The New York Times—all of whom were named in Baldoni’s countersuit.

As the legal dust settles, Lively’s message is clear: her fight to defend women’s voices isn’t over.
