‘Not Interested In This Right Now’: Ajay Devgn On Daughter Nysa’s Bollywood Plans

While several star kids are making their way into films, Ajay Devgn and Kajol’s daughter Nysa Devgan seems to be in no rush to enter the spotlight. At the trailer launch of Maa, Kajol’s upcoming film, Ajay candidly responded to questions about whether Nysa might be seen on screen anytime soon.

When asked if he ever thought of casting his daughter in the mythological horror film, Ajay responded, “At the moment, she is not interested in this kind of work.”

The event saw both Ajay and Kajol getting candid with the press. Kajol, who plays the lead in Maa, opened up about how the emotionally heavy role resonates with her real-life experience as a mother.

Kajol Gets Candid About Motherhood On-Screen

“I spoke about this during Salaam Venky as well… It’s any parent’s worst nightmare (to lose their child). I usually keep my emotions aside while performing, but somewhere deep down, it affects me. Tears come easier when something feels so close to real life,” she shared.

Maa, directed by Chhorii filmmaker Vishal Furia, is slated for a theatrical release on June 27. The cast also includes Indraneil Sengupta, Jitin Gulati, and Kherin Sharma.

Addressing comparisons with the Chhorii franchise, Vishal clarified, “The only similarity is that both stories revolve around mothers. But Maa is about Maa Kali, a much bigger entity. This world is far larger. It’s a big-screen experience, not something to watch on OTT.”
