Yuzvendra Chahal Explains Viral ‘Sugar Daddy’ T-Shirt: ‘Wasn’t Looking For Drama, Just Sent A Message’

Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has finally broken his silence on the viral T-shirt he wore during the final divorce hearing with Dhanashree Verma. The shirt, which read “Be Your Own Sugar Daddy”, triggered a flurry of online chatter. Now, Chahal has clarified that the choice wasn’t about drama—but sending a quiet message.

In a conversation with content creator Raj Shamani on his YouTube channel, Chahal opened up about his personal life and his separation from Dhanashree. When asked about the T-shirt, he responded calmly: “Mujhe drama nahi karna tha. I just wanted to give one message, and I did that.”

He added that the statement wasn’t pre-planned but was prompted by something that happened from “the other side.” Without naming anyone, he said, “Pehle mera mann nahi tha. Par jab saamne se kuch hua, maine kaha, ab sambhal lo. Maine kisi ko abuse nahi kiya. Bas mujhe ek message dena tha.”

Chahal also briefly touched upon the financial negotiations during the divorce. “I had signed a good deal,” he said, without giving further details.

Chahal and Dhanashree tied the knot in December 2020 during the pandemic after meeting over dance classes. They filed for divorce by mutual consent in February this year, and the separation was finalised in March. As per legal filings, they had been living separately since June 2022.

Amid the process, rumours emerged claiming Dhanashree demanded ₹60 crore in alimony. Her family, however, strongly denied the speculation, calling it “baseless and harmful.” They urged the media to verify facts before fuelling gossip.

Meanwhile, Chahal has been spotted multiple times with RJ Mahvash, leading to dating rumours, though neither party has confirmed anything officially.
