Disney’s Strange World Flops At The Thanksgiving Weekend; Lost Over $100 Million

Walt Disney animation studio’s recent release the strange world flopped. The film was the most significant budget ever spent by walk Disney animation on a cartoon film and had extreme waiting. But the film ends up disappointing both the creator and the fans.

The strange world was released on a thanksgiving weekend and claimed a very poor response from the thousands of theatres it occupied. Most of the shows have been off in the middle, people did not like to stay till the end too. And the film ranked as the most lacklustre performance Disney ever built.

The strange world was signed to open in 4174 theatres in North America alone, with the heavy plan to open over a 30 million dollar weekend. But the result came that the total international box office collection was 9.2 million dollars. It was considered the biggest satisfactory loss in Disney’s history. The report said it lost over 18.6 million dollars on the calculated weekend alone. 

The film budget is over 180 million dollars, and strange world is believed to recover in the following weeks. In the meantime, many film and animation industries started pointing out the strange world’s poor performance. And denoting the lacklustre marketing performance of Disney, they said “Disney lost, and it is over.” 

Disney has committed to an enormous list of projects in the upcoming years and has booked Elemental, Peter Pan and Wendy, the Wish, etc… and is believed to make a notable comeback moreover there is going to be an animation movie too, waiting to release.
