Rihanna Discusses Her Struggles With Work-Life Balance As New Mother: ‘Work Is Going To Take Away Your Time’

Rihanna recently wore her emotions on her sleeve, revealing her newfound admiration for improved work-life balance as a new mother.

Rihanna will perform live at the Super Bowl Halftime Show for the first time since 2017.

During the Apple Music Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show press conference, the Fenty owner and singer, 34, discussed how having her son prepared her to perform on stage for the first time in seven years, as well as the difficulties of work-life balance as a parent.

“Trying to balance work and family will always be challenging because no regardless of how much you do, you will miss out on time with your child,” she stated.

Rihanna and rapper A$AP Rocky had their first child in May 2022, and she claims the experience has made her much more deliberate about what she says yes to.

Rihanna also discussed her initial reluctance to perform just three months after giving birth to her child.

Rihanna’s return at the Super Bowl Halftime Show is one of the most intriguing components of the upcoming Super Bowl LVII. Rihanna hasn’t released any new music since 2016’s ANTI, with the exception of the songs she recorded for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in 2022.

Fans are eager to learn whether the 34-year-old singer would unveil her ninth studio album and following tour during the Super Bowl in 2023. In the midst of all the hype and expectations, Rihanna spoke up about what it’s like to hit the stage at one of the most anticipated events in pop culture and athletics after becoming a mother.

In May 2022, Rihanna and rapper ASAP Rocky had their first child together, a baby boy. The singer talked at length during an Apple Music press conference on Thursday, teasing her concert at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Rihanna told Apple Music DJ Nadeska Alexis via PEOPLE that she was originally hesitant to accept the role and even worried if she would regret it afterwards.

“The moment you become a mother, something appears to happen that gives you the feeling that you can conquer anything.”

“You can do anything, and the Super Bowl is one of the world’s largest platforms,” the Umbrella singer said.

It is necessary for representation. “It’s vital for my son to witness that,” said the Fenty Beauty creator.

The Diamonds singer also stated that cramming 17 years in the music industry into a 13-minute performance was one of the most difficult obstacles.

Rihanna went on to say that because she hasn’t performed in several years, completing a 2-hour-long concert in 13 minutes presents several physical obstacles.

“It’s a tough show that doesn’t end until the very last moment… It’s really exhausting,” she says.
