Wankhede also alleged that “The Ba***ds of Bollywood” was deliberately designed to defame him and damage his reputation and image. He also alleged that the series portrays anti-drug agencies in a negative light, thereby undermining public trust in them. However, the Delhi High Court refused to hear the petition filed by Sameer Wankhede, an IRS officer and former zonal director of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). The court, considering the reliefs sought in the petition, declared that it was not worthy of consideration. However, the court allowed Sameer Wankhede to amend and refile the petition.

In this case, Senior Advocate Harish Salve appeared for Red Chillies Entertainment and Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi for Netflix, while Senior Advocate Sandeep Sethi appeared for the plaintiff. It’s worth noting that Sameer Wankhede arrested Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in the 2021 cruise drugs case. Aryan Khan spent 27 days in jail and was later given a clean chit.

Aryan Khan’s Web Series

Aryan has now directed the series “The Bads of Bollywood,” in which he took a dig at Sameer Wankhede without naming him. The scene depicted drugs and cast a character and actor resembling Sameer Wankhede. This also led to numerous memes on social media. Sameer Wankhede’s petition alleged that the Netflix series “The Baddies of Bollywood” featured false, derogatory, and defamatory material about him. He requested the court to impose a permanent and mandatory ban on the series, as well as order compensation from Red Chillies Entertainment and Netflix, among others. Sameer sought ₹2 crore as compensation and expressed his desire to donate the amount to Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital to help cancer patients.
