Amid the outrage, Honey Singh posted a video on Instagram late last night, addressing the controversy and apologizing to those who felt hurt by his comment. He clarified that the viral clip was edited and did not reflect the full context of what he intended to say. “I have come to talk to you all about something. Since morning, a video of mine has been going viral on Instagram after being edited, which many people are finding objectionable. I want to tell you the whole story,” Honey Singh said in the video.

Honey Singh said, “Two days before this show, I had lunch with my gynecologist and sexologist. They told me that the younger generation is suffering a lot due to unsafe sex and STDs”. Seeing a predominantly Gen Z audience at the concert, Honey Singh said he felt the urge to send a message about using condoms and staying safe, but chose the wrong approach. He admitted mistake and said, “I thought if I spoke in the kind of language Gen Z hears on OTT platforms and in movies, they would understand it. But that language offended many people,” he said.

In the video, Honey Singh issued a heartfelt apology and took responsibility for his words. “I apologize to all those who were offended by my language. I had no intention of hurting anyone. Humans make mistakes, and I will make sure this doesn’t happen again. I will be more careful about what I say, how I say it, and where I say it,” he stated. He also acknowledged the reality of social media, saying that statements can easily be edited and misrepresented, leading to unnecessary controversies.
