“Did Not Achieve Independence By Hunger Strike-Dandi March” Says Kangana Ranaut!!

Actress Kangana Ranaut has called herself a ‘netawadi’ (follower of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose) and not a ‘Gandhwadi’ (follower of Mahatma Gandhi). On Thursday, Kangana attended the inauguration of the revamped Rajpath – Duty Path in Delhi. Talking to reporters, Kangana said that the struggles of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Veer Savarkar have been ‘completely denied’. Kangana also said that India did not achieve independence only by doing ‘hunger strike and Dandi March’.

Kangana said, “I have always said that I am a Netawadi (Netaji Subhash Chandrawadi, not a Gandhian. Everyone has their own way of thinking and I believe that the struggle was done by Netaji and many other revolutionaries like Savarkar (Veer Savarkar). ), but their struggle was completely denied. Only that side was shown that we have achieved independence by doing hunger strike and Dandi march. It is not so.”

She also said, “Millions of people made sacrifices. Netaji took part in World War 2 and campaigned all over the world to bring to the fore the dire situation of India. He also created an army and thus took an active part in putting pressure on the British. He was not hungry for power. He was hungry for freedom and he liberated the country.”
Apart from this, on the question on the name of Kartavyapath, Kangana said, ‘This is the path of duty, many generations to come will walk on it. If you keep the name Rajpath, it will be such a path, this is the path of duty, this is guidance.’
