Like Sridevi, Janhvi Kapoor Has Great Comic Timing And Wicked Sense Of Humour: Boney Kapoor

Janhvi Kapoor’s father, Boney Kapoor, is financially supporting her debut film, Mili. He discussed how Janvhi got the lead part and even drew comparisons to the late Sridevi in a recent interview. Boney Kapoor, speaking of Mili, remarked that Janhvi Kapoor insisted on filming in a real freezer when temperatures dropped to -12 degrees Celsius. This film marks Boney and Janhvi’s first collaborative effort in the entertainment industry. The film’s producer also praised the actor’s sense of humour and comic timing, saying they resemble those of her late actress mother Sridevi.

Mili stars Janhvi Kapoor as a nurse who becomes trapped in a cold storage freezer and has to find a way out before she freezes to death. The film is a remake of Mathukutty Xavier’s 2010 Malayalam film Helen, which he also directed (2019). Mili, a film produced by Boney Kapoor, will premiere on November 4.

Boney explained how Janhvi Kapoor got the part in an interview with The Times of India: “I was approached by a producer to create this film (Mili) and he wanted Janhvi for the part. This is where the head of production (Janhvi) sits on that movie (the film was with her manager for a month or two). The original film had been suggested to me beforehand. Tears welled up in my eyes, and I dove headfirst into the topic after seeing it. I went with the original film’s National Award-winning director Mathukutty Xavier. I went to Manoj Pahwa before he was signed on as the director, and when he saw the original, he said “sure.” The main characters are played by Sunny Kaushal, Manoj, and others.

Boney went on to compare Janhvi to the late Sridevi, saying that she “conveyed everything” with her facial expressions in the film. My daughter is an actor, and she’s very dedicated and passionate about her craft. She insisted on filming in a real freezer, where temperatures dropped to as low as -8 degrees Celsius. In the second part of the film, she barely speaks at all, and everything is conveyed solely via her facial expressions. After watching the range of roles she has taken on in her films, I had no doubt she would be able to successfully portray this character. Spectators would be well to hold off judgement until they saw her in a full-length comedy. Boney has observed about his daughter that “she has amazing comic timing and a sense of humour like her mother (Sridevi).

Janhvi had said at a recent press meet in Delhi, “I remember it (film) taking a genuine toll on my mental health because I would come back home after wrapping up shoot and I would go to sleep and dream that I was still in the freezer.” This is because the actress spent 20 days filming Mili inside a special freezer at a temperature of minus 15 degrees Celsius. I was sick for a few days and had to take powerful painkillers; the director was also ailing.
