In a recent IANS interview, Neena revealed her happiness about leading Vadh 2. She said she felt proud that the makers trusted her with such responsibility. According to her, when actors of their age are offered substantial lead roles instead of merely supporting parts, it greatly boosts their confidence. Emphasising this belief, she remarked that meaningful opportunities empower senior performers to showcase their true potential on screen today and beyond.
“I feel very good, I feel very proud that actors of this age also get a lead role to play, to play a responsible role. They can now not just support, but have a chance to carry a film on their shoulders. I feel very good about it. I feel that if films like this continue to be made, then the other actors, their manoeuvrability will also increase, that if they can do it, we can also do it. So, it’s a moment of big pride for me.”
What can audiences expect from the film Vadh 2?
Vadh 2 is the second installment in the Vadh franchise, yet it presents a fresh narrative rather than continuing the original plot. The film follows a retired prison guard, played by Sanjay Mishra, and a woman inmate, portrayed by Neena Gupta, whose paths cross after encountering a cruel individual. Facing numerous obstacles, they move ahead in their quest for justice. Speaking about the film, director Jaspal Singh Sandhu told IANS:
“Vadh 2 is conceived to deliver an experience of a rich narrative driven by well-defined characters. We’ve pushed the envelope, taking the storytelling a notch higher to give the audience a layered thriller-mystery. The trailer offers a glimpse into this morally complex world of Vadh 2, where truth is not clearly defined.”
Vadh 2 is produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, and directed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu. In an interview, producer Luv Ranjan revealed that the upcoming sequel will expand on the emotional intensity of the 2022 film Vadh. He explained that while retaining its core feelings, Vadh 2 will present an entirely new story, characters, and dramatic conflicts for audiences and continue exploring complex human emotions through gripping, grounded storytelling.
“Vadh 2 takes forward the philosophy and emotional depth of the first film with a completely new story.
