Instead, he has chosen a spiritual route with a soulful Shiva bhajan titled Oh Shiva Mere. Interestingly, despite having millions of followers across social media platforms, Arijit Singh did not promote the release of his new devotional track. The song quietly dropped on YouTube on February 9, just ahead of Maha Shivratri, leaving fans pleasantly surprised. “Oh Shiva Mere” showcases a deeply spiritual side of the singer.

The bhajan reflects devotion, calmness, and emotional depth qualities that have always defined Arijit’s voice, but in an entirely new musical space. The lyrics of the song are penned by Kumaar, who shared the track on X, thanking Arijit for lending his soulful voice to the composition. Within a short span of time, the song crossed over 100,000 views on YouTube, winning hearts nationwide.

The composition of the bhajan is crafted by Mandeep Panghal. The guitars were played by Shomu Seal and Swastik Shubham, adding a rich acoustic texture to the track. The chorus features vocals by Piyush Ranjan, Sakshi Holkar, Sonam Pathak, and Mandeep Panghal, enhancing the spiritual depth and layered sound of the composition. On January 27, Arijit took to Instagram to announce his retirement from playback singing. In his emotional note, he wrote, “Thank you to all my listeners for all the love over the years. I’m happy to announce that from now on, I won’t be taking up any new work as a playback singer. I’m saying goodbye to this profession. It’s been a wonderful journey.”
