In a press conference held on March 24, Monalisa made explosive accusations against Sanoj Mishra, the director of her film The Diary of Manipur.

She alleged that the filmmaker touched her inappropriately multiple times and claimed that she had to endure such behavior despite it being her debut project. Monalisa also made deeply personal claims about her family, stating that she never felt loved by her mother and accusing her father of immoral conduct. She further revealed that she and her husband have been receiving death threats and appealed to state and central authorities for protection. Reacting strongly, Sanoj Mishra dismissed all allegations as false and baseless. In a video shared on social media, he claimed that similar accusations had been made against him in the past but were eventually disproven. He also suggested that Monalisa is being manipulated and coached to make such claims, alleging a larger conspiracy against him.
