Popular comedian and actor Kapil Sharma has been making headlines for unsettling reasons. A few months ago, unidentified gangsters allegedly opened fire at his newly launched restaurant in Canada. Now, the comedian has faced another scare after receiving threat calls and a ransom demand of ₹1 crore (₹10 million).

Kapil Sharma Receives 1 Crore Ransom Call
According to officials, the Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested the accused, identified as Dilip Chaudhary, from West Bengal. He allegedly posed as an associate of dreaded gangsters Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar while threatening Sharma. Police revealed that Kapil Sharma received seven threatening calls between September 22 and 23, along with intimidating videos. The threats were made from different numbers, demanding the comedian pay a hefty ransom.

Following Sharma’s complaint, the accused was tracked down in West Bengal, taken into custody, and brought to Mumbai for interrogation. He was produced before Esplanade Court, which remanded him to police custody until September 30. Investigators are now probing whether Chaudhary had direct links with these gangsters or was merely misusing their names to create fear.

Despite these troubling incidents, Kapil Sharma continues to stay active in his career. His popular Netflix series, “The Great Indian Kapil Show,” recently wrapped up its third season with Akshay Kumar as the final guest, leaving fans in splits. Kapil is also gearing up for his next film, “Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2,” directed by Anukalp Goswami. The sequel to his 2015 debut comedy was initially set to release on September 26 but has now been postponed, with a new date yet to be announced. The first part revolved around a stand-up comedian juggling three wives, and the sequel is expected to bring back the same laughter-packed chaos.
