Ranbir Kapoor has declined to appear on Koffee With Karan because he was worried he could say anything controversial that would get him into trouble. In episode 4 of season 5 of Koffee With Karan, Ranbir made an appearance and sat next to Ranveer Singh. The one stipulation Ranbir had that could have allowed Karan to convince him to go on the show has finally been disclosed by Karan.

Alia Bhatt, the wife of Ranbir, is one of the show’s first visitors. Alongside Ranveer Singh, she will appear in the pilot episode of Gully Boy.

“He’s a pretty close friend of mine,” Karan Johar said in an interview with NDTV when asked about Ranbir’s unavailability in the seventh season. He declared that he wouldn’t be coming because “if I say something, kuchh gadbad ho jaega” (something would go wrong). He makes fun of me by telling me, “You pay me what you’re getting, and I’ll come.

“Why should I pay you, I questioned. I won’t be paying you. For the movies you’re producing, I’m paying you enough. And I honor that. They shouldn’t come only because they are longtime friends. If they wish to, they should come, ” Karan added.

Brahmastra, the eagerly anticipated and much-delayed movie starring Ranbir and Alia, has Karan Johar as a co-producer. On September 9, it is slated to open in theatres. Ranbir had stated during his stint on Koffee With Karan, “Being alone is dull, lonely, and depressing. You can join NASA if you really want space in general.” The actor had ultimately chosen his Saawariya co-star Sonam Kapoor when asked to rank actors on sex appeal.

Although Ranbir will not appear this season, the ad for the first episode depicts Alia and Ranveer discussing their marriages, with Alia stating that she was too exhausted for suhaagraat. At the latter’s residence, Alia and Ranbir were married in a closely guarded ceremony in April of this year. Their first child is currently due.
