Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for one of the most anticipated films of his career i.e. Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. The actor will portray Lord Ram, while Yash is set to play Ravana in this magnum opus. However, ever since the casting was announced, a section of social media users has questioned Ranbir’s suitability for the divine role, citing his past controversies. Amid the growing debate, spiritual guru Sadhguru has now spoken out in defense of the actor, calling the criticism against Ranbir unfair and misplaced.

Sadhguru Reacts to Ranbir Kapoor Controversy
During a recent conversation with filmmaker Namit Malhotra, Sadhguru addressed the ongoing backlash. Namit raised the issue, saying, “People are bringing up the past and asking how Ranbir Kapoor can play Shri Ram in Ramayan.” Responding to this, Sadhguru said, “This is unfair to an actor because he has acted in some capacity in the past. You can’t expect him to be Ram? Tomorrow he could play Ravana in another film.”

The spiritual leader emphasized that acting is a profession and that judging an actor’s spiritual or moral standing based on past roles or personal life is unreasonable. Sadhguru also shared his thoughts on Yash, who will play the powerful yet complex character of Ravana. He said, “Yash is a beautiful human being.” Echoing Sadhguru’s words, Namit Malhotra added, “Yash is a very beautiful human being and a very talented superstar of the country. We want to show all the facets of Ravana, his devotion, his depth, which only Yash can portray.”

Yash
Ranbir Kapoor is reportedly taking his role as Lord Ram very seriously. According to sources, the actor has made significant lifestyle changes to align with the spiritual discipline required for the character. He has adopted a sattvic diet, starts his day with early morning workouts, and practices meditation regularly. Ranbir has also given up alcohol and turned vegetarian to fully embody the purity and restraint associated with Lord Ram.
