More than a decade after Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan ended their marriage, rumours surrounding their divorce settlement continue to circulate online. Jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali has now firmly dismissed long-standing claims that her sister, Sussanne Khan, received ₹400 crore in alimony from Hrithik, calling the reports “completely false” and defending Sussanne against accusations that she was a “gold-digger.”
Speaking in a recent interview, Farah said she was deeply disturbed by persistent reports suggesting Sussanne had become richer after the divorce because of an enormous settlement. She categorically denied the claim, stating that her sister “did not take anything” from Hrithik and that the family had always valued relationships over material possessions.

“We come from a family and a mother who taught us that materialistic things are not important. Relationships are more important,” Farah said, adding that the rumours have unfairly tarnished Sussanne’s image for years.
Farah went on to praise the way Sussanne handled the separation, describing her as graceful and dignified throughout the process. According to her, that approach is the reason Sussanne continues to enjoy a warm relationship with Hrithik as well as his parents, Pinkie Roshan and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan.
Rejecting the “gold-digger” label often attached to Sussanne on social media, Farah said her sister comes from a respected family and has always conducted herself with elegance. She stressed that the divorce was handled amicably and there was no massive financial settlement as widely reported online.

Farah also recalled the intense public reaction when Hrithik and Sussanne announced their separation in 2014 after nearly 14 years of marriage. She said the news came as a shock to many people and triggered endless speculation about their personal lives. Despite the scrutiny, she believes both handled the situation with maturity and mutual respect, refusing to turn their separation into a public spectacle.
She further revealed that she had once encouraged Sussanne to publicly deny the false reports. However, Sussanne chose to remain silent, telling her sister that she did not care about what strangers thought of her. Farah said that attitude reflects the way their family has always approached public criticism, choosing not to react to every rumour circulating online.
The interview also touched upon Hrithik and Sussanne’s love story. Farah recalled that the couple wanted to get married at a time when Hrithik had just become an overnight sensation following the success of Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai in 2000. Although there were suggestions that he should wait before marrying because of his soaring popularity, Hrithik remained committed to Sussanne and went ahead with the wedding.

Today, both have moved on in their personal lives. Sussanne is in a relationship with actor Arslan Goni, while Hrithik is dating actor-singer Saba Azad. Farah said she is happy to see both of them with partners who bring them joy and believes everyone deserves to be with people who make them the best version of themselves. She added that it is heartening to see the cordial relationship shared by all four, who are often spotted together at family gatherings and vacations.
Hrithik and Sussanne continue to co-parent their sons, Hrehaan and Hridhaan, and have frequently spoken about maintaining a healthy friendship despite their divorce. Farah’s latest remarks seek to put an end to one of Bollywood’s most enduring rumours, reiterating that the widely circulated ₹400 crore alimony story has no basis in fact and that the former couple’s respectful relationship speaks for itself.
