Actor Shweta Tiwari has opened up about her past relationships on The Traitors Season 2, revealing that she personally caught both her former husbands, Raja Chaudhary and Abhinav Kohli, allegedly cheating on her during their respective marriages.
The revelation came during a conversation with host Karan Johar, who was discussing Shweta’s ability to identify when someone is lying. When Johar questioned whether she could really be that good at spotting a liar, Shweta responded with a reference to her personal experiences. “Apne patiyon ko cheat karte hue maine hi pakda tha,” she said, meaning that she had caught her husbands cheating on her.

Shweta was first married to actor Raja Chaudhary. The couple tied the knot in 1998 but separated in 2007 before eventually getting divorced. Six years later, Shweta married actor Abhinav Kohli in 2013. That relationship also ended in separation. According to NDTV, Shweta had previously cited allegations of domestic violence and cheating while discussing the breakdown of both marriages.
Her latest comments on The Traitors have brought renewed attention to the difficult chapters of her personal life. Although Shweta made the remark in the context of discussing her ability to detect lies, the statement quickly became a talking point because of the public controversies surrounding both of her marriages.
Shweta and Raja’s relationship had previously attracted considerable media attention, particularly after their separation. Raja has rejected allegations of domestic abuse made against him. In a recent conversation with Siddharth Kannan, he also spoke about his version of events surrounding the marriage and made allegations about Shweta’s relationship with her Kasautii Zindagii Kay co-star Cezanne Khan.

Raja claimed that a mutual friend had told him about Shweta and Cezanne allegedly being in a relationship and said Cezanne had confirmed the relationship. He further accused Shweta of altering the meaning of some of his statements and sharing information about him that he claimed was untrue. These remain allegations made by Raja, and Shweta’s latest comments on The Traitors do not specifically address those claims.
Shweta’s second marriage, to Abhinav Kohli, also ended after several years. The former couple have a son together. Their separation became a matter of public discussion, with both sides making allegations and counter-allegations over their relationship and parenting arrangements.
The actor’s appearance on The Traitors Season 2 has now offered viewers a glimpse into how those experiences may have shaped her ability to recognise deception. Her response to Karan Johar also fitted naturally into the show’s central theme, where contestants must identify who among them is secretly working as a “Traitor”.
The latest season of the reality series features a large ensemble of celebrities, including Rhea Chakraborty, Munawar Faruqui, Mallika Sherawat, Shalini Passi, Krystle D’Souza, Abhishek Malhan, Parul Gulati, Ranveer Brar and several others. Shweta is among the contestants expected to bring her considerable television experience to the psychological game.
While Shweta’s remark was delivered casually during her conversation with Karan Johar, it has inevitably revived interest in her previous marriages. The actor has largely moved forward from those relationships and built a long-running career in television and entertainment.
