The case reportedly dates back to 2022, when Lavanya Saxena approached Adnan Sami’s team to organize a live concert in Gwalior. The total amount for the event was around ₹33 lakh, with the concert scheduled to take place on September 27, 2022. As per Lavanya’s statement, she had paid an advance of ₹17.62 lakh to Adnan Sami’s management team to finalize the event date and arrangements.

However, the event was canceled at the last minute, and Sami’s team allegedly promised to reschedule the concert for a future date. Despite repeated attempts by the organizers to contact the singer’s team, neither the concert took place nor the advance amount was refunded. Frustrated with the prolonged delay, Lavanya Saxena filed a complaint at Inderganj Police Station. However, she reportedly received no satisfactory response from the authorities. Following this, she approached the District Court, accusing Adnan Sami and his team of fraud and financial misconduct.
