‘I Don’t Please Everyone’: Anupam Kher Pens Cryptic Message Following Ram Mandir Remark

Actor Anupam Kher has responded to the criticism over his remarks on the alleged embezzlement of donations at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, asserting that he has no intention of changing his position despite facing backlash on social media. The actor said he continues to stand by his earlier comments and maintained that he would not be influenced by criticism or trolling.

The controversy began after Kher visited the Ram Mandir ahead of the shoot of his upcoming film Shri Ram Bhoomi. During his visit, he commented on the allegations of embezzlement involving donations collected at the temple. While condemning the alleged financial irregularities and stating that those responsible should be punished, Kher also described the incident as “a very minor thing” in comparison to the larger significance of the temple. His remarks drew criticism from a section of social media users and political commentators, who accused him of downplaying the seriousness of the allegations.

Addressing the backlash in a video shared on Instagram and X, Kher said his comments had been misunderstood and taken out of context. He stated that some people were unhappy because his views did not align with their preferred narrative. According to the actor, attempts were made to portray his remarks in a different light in order to generate controversy.

In the video, Kher said he had merely expressed what he genuinely felt during his visit to the temple. He added that he has never been afraid to voice his opinions and would continue to speak his mind regardless of criticism. The actor also said he does not believe in trying to please everyone and has always remained honest about his convictions.

The veteran actor reiterated that the alleged embezzlement should not be ignored and that those found guilty must face legal consequences. At the same time, he maintained that the alleged actions of a few individuals should not diminish the significance of the Ram Mandir or affect the faith of millions of devotees who visit the temple.

Kher also questioned the intensity of the reaction to his statement, saying that differing opinions are a part of a democratic society. He added that disagreement should not discourage individuals from expressing their views and maintained that he would continue speaking openly on issues he considers important.

The actor’s latest response has generated fresh reactions online, with supporters backing his clarification while critics continued to question his original remarks. The issue has remained a topic of discussion across social media platforms since his visit to Ayodhya, with users expressing differing interpretations of his comments.

Kher is currently in Ayodhya for the shooting of Shri Ram Bhoomi, in which he will portray the late Vishva Hindu Parishad leader Ashok Singhal. The film is based on the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and is being shot at multiple locations in and around Ayodhya. Earlier, the actor had said he felt honoured to be part of the project and would strive to do justice to the role.

Despite the ongoing criticism, Kher has maintained that his position remains unchanged. Reiterating that he was expressing a personal opinion during his visit to the temple, the actor said he has no regrets over his remarks and will continue to stand by them. His latest statement has added another chapter to the debate surrounding the alleged Ram Mandir donation embezzlement case and the public reactions it has generated.
