Dr. Sukhda Pritam, Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Ambala made a special visit to Central Jail Ambala. During the visit, Dr. Pritam and Shri Lakhbir Singh Brar, Superintendent of the jail, did a joint broadcast through the jail radio congratulating RJ Sheru for his recent song. They also exhorted all the inmates for more creative pursuits like this and encouraged them to come forward for vaccination.

Sheru, a 40-year-old inmate, recently made it to national news with the release of his song on Covid-19 awareness. The song was later appreciated by Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Health Minister through his social media platforms. The song was released by Dr. Vartika Nanda, Founder, Tinka Tinka Foundation and the key person behind prison radio in the state of Haryana.

Haryana Prisons have launched prison radios in 7 out of 12 prisons of the state. First prison radio I Haryana was inaugurated in District Jail, Panipat by Shri Ranjit Singh, Jail Minister, Shri Rajeev Arora, IAS, ACS, Home & Jail Department, Government of Haryana, Shri K. Selvaraj, then Director General of Prisons, Haryana.
