Deepika Will Make A Biopic On Papa Prakash Padukone; Said, “He Made India A World Champion Even Before 1983”

Actress Deepika Padukone is currently busy with the promotions of her film ‘Ghehraiyaan’. For which she is mostly resorting to a digital medium. Recently, Deepika along with the team of ‘Gahreiyaan’ reached Cyrus Broacha’s YouTube show Cyrus Says for promotion. During this digital chat, the actress revealed that she is working on a film based on the career and struggles of her father and badminton player Prakash Padukone.

In the show, Cyrus asks Deepika to choose between her father and some international badminton players. To this, Dipika takes the name of her father and argues that how her father trained with limited resources and made the best of what he had. Deepika said, ‘He trained in a marriage hall, that used to be his badminton court. He used things like beams to make his shot more accurate. He used disadvantage for advantage. Had he had the facilities that Indian athletes have today, he would have been much better off.

On hearing this, Cyrus tells the director of ‘ Gehraiyaan’ Shakun Batra that you have got the script of the next film. On this, Deepika says in the middle that ‘I am working on this film’. Referring to India being the first in sports to honor India on the world map, Deepika said, “As far as Indian sport is concerned, even before the 1983 World Cup, he (Prakash Padukone) gave India the world title.” He was one of the first Indian athletes to be placed on the map. He won the world championship in 1981, which was apparently before 1983.’ Deepika’s Gehraiyaan film did not do as well as was expected from the film. Talking about Deepika’s upcoming films, she will be seen working in Cirkus, Pathan, Project K. Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in the lead roles with him in Project K.
