Actors Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim have been navigating a difficult few months, marked by health challenges and emotional stress. After a family trip to Kashmir and Delhi in April, Dipika’s health took a serious turn. She was later diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in her liver, for which she underwent surgery in June.
In his latest vlog, Shoaib revealed that while the operation was successful, Dipika is currently dealing with side effects from her ongoing targeted therapy. “There are a few issues that we’re facing due to the treatment,” he said, noting that the actress continues to remain strong during recovery. The vlog also featured snippets from their Kashmir vacation — moments that were captured just before the terror attack in Pahalgam.
The Kashmir-Delhi trip included Dipika, Shoaib, their son Ruhaan, and Shoaib’s cousin. The family flew out of Kashmir the same morning the terror attack occurred in Pahalgam. Shoaib shared visuals of their last day in the valley, including a Shikara ride on Dal Lake and a visit to the iconic Tulip Garden. “It is our last day in Kashmir,” he says in the video, capturing the serene moments before tragedy struck the region.
Dipika too shared her fondness for the memory, saying, “This clip from Kashmir is my personal favorite, it was the most beautiful.”
Back in April, Shoaib faced criticism for announcing a vlog on their Kashmir trip just a day after the Pahalgam attacks. The timing drew backlash online, although he later clarified his intent.
The trip was also when Dipika reportedly fell ill, prompting an early return to Mumbai and subsequent medical investigations that led to the cancer diagnosis.
On the professional front, Dipika Kakar was last seen on Celebrity MasterChef. Recent media reports claim she may return to television opposite actor Vivian Dsena, though no official announcement has been made. Shoaib previously mentioned in his vlog that Dipika’s recovery process could take up to two years due to the aggressive nature of the tumor.
