Do You Know Sidharth’s Mother Sent Him To a Modelling Contest As a Punishment But He Won? Full Story Inside

The news of Sidharth Shukla’s sad and untimely demise has shocked the entire nation. Initial reports suggested that the actor succumbed to a heart attack on Thursday, September 2 but as of now, the cause of death is ascertained and will only be clear after viscera analysis. The 40-year-old actor had risen to fame with his stint on Bigg Boss 13.

While remembering the late actor, Humans of Bombay reshared an old interview of Sidharth Shukla which he gave a few days after coming out of Bigg Boss 13 with the titular trophy. In his piece for Humans Of Bombay, Sidharth had talked about the bond he shares with his mom. The late actor recalled an anecdote from the time when his mom sent him to a modelling contest to “teach him a lesson” but he ended up winning the competition. He had shared, “I used to act like the ‘cool guy’ – so to ‘teach me a lesson, she sent me for a modelling contest thinking I’d be put in my place! Funnily enough, I actually won!.”

Sidharth Shukla also credited his mom for helping him find his passion i.e. modelling and acting.

In his piece for Humans Of Bombay, Shukla had also stated that he was extremely close to his mom, who took care of him and his two sisters after his dad left them at an early age. Sidharth is survived by his mom and his sisters. Praising her mother for the same, the actor had said: “When dad passed away 15 years ago, it felt like the umbrella over us had been taken away. But my mom was our rock – she never showed any signs of vulnerability. Despite our poor finances, she ran the house, looked after 3 kids and fulfilled all our demands! I know now that she must’ve had to sacrifice so much to give us what we wanted. Recently, I was on Big Boss and for the first time, I didn’t speak to her for months. I know it doesn’t sound too cool to say it at 39 – but being away from her was the toughest part of the show.”

Sidharth forayed into modelling in 2004. He participated in Gladrags Manhunt and Mega model Contest. In 2005, Sidharth won the World’s Best Model contest held in Turkey to become the first Indian to win the title by beating 40 contestants. He made his acting debut with a TV show titled Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na, in which he was paired opposite Aastha Chaudhary. Later he featured in soap operas like Jaane Pehchaane Se… Ye Ajnabbi, Love U Zindagi, Balika Vadhu, Dil Se Dil Tak etc.

Besides TV serials, Sidharth had participated in reality shows, Khatron Ke Khiladi 7 and Bigg Boss 13, and begged the trophy from both the show. The late actor had also participated in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 6. However, he got eliminated from the show in the 11th week.
